Our class headed to the state capitol on February 12th, 2018. As you may know, yesterday was the vote for the Oklahoma teacher pay raise. Our class went to talk to our representative about the vote. We were able to have professional conversations with the representatives, but we couldn't help but notice that a few of them didn't take the time to really hear what we had to say. The vote turned out to be -with two votes absent and one N/A- 63 Yea to 34 Nay. To pass this, there was a required to pass with 75% of the vote. So no, public school teachers will not be getting a 5,000 dollar pay raise.
