Blue Thumbs!

This week we went to Fry Ditch Creek volunteering for the Blue Thumb. We learned how to take water samples and measure the dissolved oxygen. We also saw a lot of muscles in the water! We were collecting bugs when we saw a snake! We also caught fish and got to hold them. After that we all ate at Pizza Hut and had a good time. Once we got back to school we got to test the water samples and did some really fun stuff with chemicals. We had to rinse the testing equipment three times with deionized water and fill it up to a certain point. One of my favorite things we did was the first one, which was putting one chemical into the water which made it black and counting how many drops of the other chemical until it turned clear. Overall it was a good day.
